Doctor, you are a gastronomic sensualist...

this karma feature, to me is a motivational tool. the more karma you obtain, the more you feel accepted within this here community. the less karma you have, or none at all makes you feel unwanted and unloved    take for example tails girl. she burst onto the scene with such vigor and positiveness..and i mentioned to her, youre the karma queen!. she will have 1000 karma by summer. anyhoo..that is my assesment of what karma is all about

You're very sweet AKA, but I honestly don't need, nor want Karma, it's a very nice gesture, and it's very much appreciated, but I'm not seeking it hon

*hugs* for your nice comments, lol and some Karma for you!

"this karma feature, to me is a motivational tool. the more karma you obtain, the more you feel accepted within this here community. the less karma you have, or none at all makes you feel unwanted and unloved ."  " Unwanted and unloved", that is how I feel! It's a crappy feeling.

@Frankief and BluesBrother:

Having or not having karma points is immaterial. Everyone has a home who wishes to be here. Everyone is wanted. The number under your name doesn't define "accepted" or "unloved/unwanted". Make friends with whomever you find you wish to be friends with and forget ranks and points.

Be yourself, don't worry about numbers. Relax and enjoy yourselves. No one here is going to like or dislike nor befriend you based on your rank, member number nor karma points. Anyone who does isn't worth having as a friend.

You'll find people who know eachother since they've been here longer....but that doesn't mean much since as you're here longer, that feeling will fade. You'll learn the slang and all sorts of stuff.

It's like being the new kid in school...if you've ever moved, you know what I'm talking about. The other kids will get to know you and all will be well.

That feeling is universal...no one was born here. Don't blame karma for your feelings of 'newness'. "The fault dear Brutus is not in the stars but in ourselves."

Try not to be too sensitive.

Welcome and have fun. Don't be afraid to ask questions nor say hello.

You're very much loved hon, you always drop by my site [and me yours] to say hello and you're always friendly, nobody could fault you, so don't feel unloved, because you are loved

I thought the first rule of karma was you do not to talk about karma?

on Jan 21, 2009

Well put,Doc.

Furthermore, helping others in anticipation of some sort of "reward" cheapens the whole process. As a community we should be helpful and freindly regardless of what may or may not be gained by it.I was welcomed here and and was helped by many people who never expected anything in return.I try to be helpful when possible, given my limited computer skills and I put no "price" on it. If I make a new freind in the process that is reward enough.

Which brings us back to .. its probably best if it was canned.

Really? No one ever told me...in fact, Zu and Po'  have joked about it in threads....I just don't want people hurt by numbers, and I don't care about some "rule". I was the new kid at school, and didn't like the feeling.

I also remember when I started in the Forums (and it wasn't too long ago despite my member number) not knowing what anyone was talking about and seeing all the folks who knew each other since Jesus played with arpenter's blocks. That wasn't a great feeling either. So, I want the newer people not to feel bad. Anything wrong with that?
